About This Spot

Stepping into Bumble's Cafe feels like finding a quietly cherished corner of Chichester where time moves gently—slow enough to savor a warm cup of tea or a freshly brewed coffee, yet lively enough to share a friendly smile with the welcoming staff. Nestled just off the town center, this unassuming spot invites both locals and visitors to settle in beneath soft lighting and subtly quirky decor, with intimate nooks that hint at different stories in each room upstairs.

The pace here is easygoing, matching the rhythm of a neighborhood café where regulars and new faces mingle over breakfast or lunch. The air often carries the comforting aroma of baked goods and rich coffee, weaving through the inviting space. Whether you’re pausing for a quiet mid-afternoon treat or gathering with friends before a visit to the nearby cathedral, Bumble’s embraces you with a sense of casual warmth.

The menu naturally becomes part of the experience rather than the centerpiece. Think of it as a collection of familiar tastes with a thoughtful twist—pancakes kissed by maple syrup, hearty sausage baps, and cakes like coffee and walnut or apple crumble paired perfectly with a carefully made Americano or a delicate tea cup set. There is an old-fashioned charm in the way sweet puddings and savoury toasties arrive at your table, comforting and generous, reflecting the care of a place run by someone who knows the joy of good company and good food.

Upstairs, the separate rooms offer a cozy retreat, each with its own distinct character, inviting guests to linger a little longer, to lose themselves in quiet conversations or a good book. The atmosphere is easy and welcoming, with a little quirkiness that feels uniquely Bumble’s, not polished but lovingly put together.

This café is quietly community-oriented, a little refuge where dogs are greeted warmly and where you might catch the thoughtful attention of the owner herself, making sure your time here fits just right into your day. It’s a simple pleasure—a pause, a treat, a moment of ease in the heart of Chichester.

Went here for a mid afternoon tea and cake with family. The staff are friendly but seemed in somewhat of a hurry for us to get out quickly as it was drawing 3:50 ten minutes before they close. However the cake and other sweet treats are great quality and worth the price (about £4.50 when I came. The eating area is well designed. The stairs to the upstairs area and toilets are steep and the cafe itself isn't accessible. I will come again and would recommend it to friends.

Independent and lovely atmosphere/ decor. Enjoyed the lunch experience so much that I came back later for afternoon tea and cake. Friendly and prompt service. Old fashioned in the very best sense of the phrase. Stairs to upper floor are a little steep, but worth a visit to see the separate rooms with unique furnishings.

What a gorgeous cafe! We had very limited time before the carol service today and the owner sat us, fed us an exceptional quantity of pudding and custard and brought us the bill as soon as we asked, so we had time to get to the cathedral. The syrup sponge pudding and apple pie were just perfect. We aren't local but we'll be coming for a more relaxed lunch next time we're back, we felt so looked after.

This is a lovely little quirky cafe! Staff are always very friendly and welcoming. A few tables downstairs but plenty of seating upstairs. Each room upstairs have a different theme and it feels very cosy. They have a breakfast and lunch menu and plenty of cake options, hot drinks and cold non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks available. Located close to the high street and not far from bus and train station. I've had coffee here and lunch several times. Highly recommend a visit if you haven't been here before.

This is a privately owned café run by a lovely lady. It’s on the edge of the town Centre and well worth a visit. A little quirky and small can recommend the pancakes and maple syrup. A welcome too for dogs.

Such a hidden gem in Chichester! I had a delicious scone which was still warm and crumbly and a coffee. The atmosphere is so cosy with three different rooms with armchairs and eclectic decor, can’t wait to come back :)
